AZÁGUA is located in Várzea da Igreja, the capital of the municipality of São Domingos, a neighboring municipality of the country's capital, the city of Praia.

São Domingos is a region with strong potential for seaside tourism, particularly in Praia Baixo, where there are beautiful beaches. These beaches are still chosen by certain endangered sea turtles as nesting sites.
